Tamilian Deliciacies to go with Curd Rice

I am not quite a foodie, yet I can't not mention some of the delicalies of Tamil Nadu that go with Thair Sadam(Curd Rice).
  • Narthanga
  • Veppalakatti
  • Mormozhga
  • Mavalikazhang
  • Mavadu
Yummmmm, delicious is an under statement. I sure have missed a few and am trying to recall...

@Arthi - Vethakuzhambu, yes absolutely but I was concentrating and referring to the non-wet thotukura items.

@Chitty Cat: Guess you are reffering to "mavadu" or manga thokku.

@popsie, U don't know how to translate. I asked a tamil friend and she translated it for me:

Narthanga – Sweet lime Pickle(not exactly sweet lime, it’s a similar species)

Veppalakatti – spicy neem balls.

Mormozhga- dried, deep fried , salted green chilies soaked in curd.

Mavalikazhang – it’s a kinda root(magliber in kannada) which is salted and stored in spicy curd or butter milk

Mavadu – Alias vadu manga- small, really small mangos, stored in salted -spicy water .

@Hrish: LOL, that I did not know.
Btw read below:

Narthanga- is NOT pickle. Sweet lime dried in salt - yes.

Veppalakatti – INCORRECT - spicy neem balls. Spicy KARIPATHA(what's the English equivalent?) balls.

Mormozhga - dried, deep fried , salted green chilies soaked in curd. The order is wrong. Reverse it.

Mavalikazhang – it’s a kinda root(magliber in kannada) which is salted and stored in spicy curd or butter milk
It is NOT kinda root, it is the SARSAPARILLA ROOT.

Mavadu – Alias vadu manga- small, really small mangos, stored in salted - spicy water. That's Right
